𝐋𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐀𝐂-𝐂𝐈 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐥’𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐈𝐍𝐄-𝐏𝐌𝐂

From May 11 to 13, 2026, the PAC-CI Program offices hosted 𝐥'𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞́𝐠𝐢𝐞 𝐞𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐞́𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐮 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐞́𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐚̀ 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 (𝐂-𝐂𝐏𝐏), organized as part of the COMBINE-PMC project.

This workshop brought together several key stakeholders in the fight against malaria in Côte d'Ivoire: 𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐋𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐞 (𝐏𝐍𝐋𝐏), 𝐥𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞́𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞́ 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐞́, 𝐥𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞́𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞́ 𝐝𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐚𝐟𝐥𝐞́, 𝐥'𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞́ 𝐈𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐞́𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 (𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐏), 𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢 𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐱 𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐱.

Funded by Expertise France, the COMBINE-PMC project is based on an interdisciplinary consortium bringing together the National Malaria Control Programs (PNLP) of Côte d'Ivoire and Togo, the PAC-CI Program, CARESP-Togo, the IRD (France), and the University of Bordeaux. 

It aims to evaluate 𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞́𝐠𝐢𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐞-𝐏𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞́𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 (𝐒𝐏) 𝐩𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞́ 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬, in order toimprove malaria prevention and vaccination coverage among children under two years of age.

The workshop was attended by 𝐥'𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞 (𝐏𝐈) 𝐝𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐭, the Dr. Shino Arikawa, and has benefited from the active participation of partner scientific and technical teams. In Côte d'Ivoire, the project is coordinated by Dr. SERI Benjamim, supported by the PAC-CI team, which is fully committed to scientific and methodological coordination.

Over the course of three days, participants engaged in collaborative discussions on several strategic themes: the operational implementation model, SP procurement, community mobilization, pharmacovigilance, human resources management, monitoring and evaluation, and data reporting mechanisms.

These discussions led to the development of a community-based SP distribution strategy tailored to the Ivorian context, accompanied by operational tools and an implementation timeline validated by all stakeholders.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the project will be rolled out in the Bouaflé health district, which is subdivided into three zones: an intervention zone, where the C-CPP will be implemented; a control zone, where SP will be administered according to the standard strategy; and a buffer zone, intended to limit migration flows between the first two zones. Implementation will begin in October 2026.

Through this initiative, the PAC-CI Program reaffirms its commitment, alongside health authorities and its partners, to innovative solutions tailored to community realities in the fight against malaria in Africa.
