Overview

The PAC-CI program includes a team of engineers, administrative managers, and technicians who, for 10 years now, have been helping European and African researchers carry out biomedical research projects in more than 31 countries to date.

This Franco-Ivorian team, known as MEREVA (Methodology and Evaluation for Clinical and Epidemiological Research on HIV in Africa), operates within the framework of the long-standing partnership between the GHiGS (Global Health in the Global South) team, Inserm (National Institute of Health and Medical Research) in Bordeaux, and the PAC-CI Program in Abidjan, and comprises four areas of activity: Project Management, Statistics, Monitoring, and IT.

Objectives

This Franco-Ivorian team, known as MEREVA, is part of the long-standing partnership between the GHiGS (Global Health in the Global South) team, Inserm (National Institute of Health and Medical Research) in Bordeaux, and the PAC-CI Program in Abidjan, and comprises four areas of activity: Project Management, Statistics, Monitoring, and IT.

MEREVA provides investigators, researchers, doctors, and healthcare providers from the HIV Africa team (CMG Bordeaux PAC-CI Abidjan Program) with:

1. a team and expertise
2. logistical support
3. an IT and database platform
4. professional training

Areas of Focus

Researchers on the HIV Africa teamdraw on numerous cohorts and clinical studies conducted in countries of the Global South to address a wide range of research questions in the field of HIV.

MEREVA offers to manage this type of project through the following organizational structure:

1. Cross-cutting areas: Biometrics – Quality/monitoring
2. Longitudinal research areas: HIV infection in adults – Pediatric HIV infection – Mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
