CASCADE Project: Phase 2 of the Training for Data Collection Agents.

On Thursday, December 15, 2022, Phase 2 of the training for data collection staff took place as part of the evaluation of the rollout of cervical cancer screening programs in Côte d’Ivoire (the CASCADE Study).

This phase of routine data collection on cervical cancer screening for the 2010–2021 period, as part of CASCADE, began in April 2022 at sites in Abidjan under the supervision of the National Cancer Control Program (PNLCa). Nearly 13,000 screening visits were entered into the REDCap® application at 13 sites in Abidjan.

This training aimed to equip the newly recruited data collection agents in Bouaké and Daloa and provide a refresher course for those in Abidjan. It brought together resource persons from the National Cancer Control Program (03), the PAC-CI Program (03), and nine data collection agents.

Ultimately, data from 47 screening sites will be digitized and will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of significant socio-health events and public health strategies on the performance of the secondary prevention program for cervical cancer, and to estimate screening coverage rates for the 2010–2024 period in Abidjan, Bouaké, and Daloa—the three regions most affected by this program in Côte d’Ivoire.
