On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the conference room of the ASTHORIA PALACE hotel in Yopougon hosted the workshop to present the activities of the AIMA-CC-ANRS 12375 study.

The goal of AIMA-CC was to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of different algorithms for screening and treating precancerous or cancerous lesions of the cervix (CIN2+ and CIN3+) in women infected with HIV.

This study, which involved 1,500 women aged 30 to 49, was conducted in collaboration with healthcare providers from the CePReF.

This workshop aimed to share the main results with stakeholders and gather their views and recommendations. The ultimate goal was to replicate and scale up a similar implementation strategy.

The workshop lasted half a day and focused on the stakes surrounding cervical cancer in Côte d'Ivoire, the presentation of the results of the AIMA-CC study, and an open discussion session between researchers and participants.

The exchanges mainly concerned the financing and public policies in the fight against cervical cancer (CC), the long waiting time for participants to undergo screening, the implementation strategy in one or two medical visits, the availability of GenExpert platforms for HPV testing, the involvement of associations and community workers in the fight against CC, and the content of awareness information for women. The workshop concluded with a shared meal with all participants around 2:30 PM.
