Summary & Key Points

"On July 21, 2026, the auditorium of the INFAS at the CHU of Treichville hosted a workshop to present the results of the A-STHreet – CIPHER 039 project, which focuses on the accessibility of HIV testing services, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and their use by adolescents aged 10 to 19 living on the streets in Côte d'Ivoire."

On July 21, 2026, the amphitheater of the INFAS at the CHU of Treichville served as the venue for the workshop to present the results of the A-STHreet – CIPHER 039 project, dedicated to access to HIV testing services, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and their use by adolescents aged 10 to 19 living on the streets in Côte d'Ivoire. Organized in a participatory approach, this meeting brought together the main institutional actors, researchers and partners committed to promoting the health of the most vulnerable adolescents.

The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Women, Family and Children, Madame Nassenéba Touré, represented by Dr. Amethier Solange. Also present were Mr. Yao Nicolas, representing the Director-Coordinator of the National Program for the Care of Orphans and Other Children Made Vulnerable by HIV (PNOEV), Mr. Enan Assemien Behiri Michel-Gerard, representing the Director-Coordinator of the National Program for the Protection of Vulnerable Children and Adolescents (PPEAV), Mr. Seydou Ouattara, Director-Coordinator of the National School and University Health Program – Adolescent and Youth Health (PNSU-SAJ), and Professor N'Dri Yoman Thérèse, coordinator of PAC-CI/PRISME CI.

Under the guidance of Dr. Touré Frank, project manager, the participants were informed of the main results of this study, which highlights the challenges faced by street-living adolescents in accessing HIV and STI testing services. The exchanges also enriched the research conclusions through the contributions of the various stakeholders and identified recommendations aimed at improving interventions for this particularly vulnerable population.

Beyond the presentation of scientific results, this workshop constituted a genuine space for dialogue between public institutions, national programs, researchers, civil society organizations and technical partners. It reflects a common willingness to strengthen policies and strategies aimed at ensuring better access to HIV and other STI prevention, testing and care services for street-living adolescents.

Through this initiative, PAC-CI reaffirms its commitment to producing quality scientific data to support decision-making, in order to contribute to the development of innovative and adapted responses to the needs of the most vulnerable populations in Côte d'Ivoire.
