The Chair of the PAC-CI/PRISME-CI Strategic Steering Committee (CPS), Ms. Thérèse N’dri-Yoman, and Dr. Raoul Moh, Executive Director of PAC-CI/PRISME-CI, participated in the annual meeting of partners of the ANRS-MIE international network. The event was held at the ANRS-MIE headquarters in Paris on June 27 and 28, 2024.

The occasion provided participants from 11 partner countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mali, Guinea, DRC, Zambia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil, Senegal) with an opportunity to review the 2023 performance and discuss 2024 priorities. The Côte d’Ivoire site is proud to have presented one of the most productive 2023 performance reports, including:

  • 38 ongoing research projects

  • 30 training sessions delivered (5 Master’s degrees completed, 1 public health thesis defense, 18 ongoing PhD programs in science, etc.)

  • 48 scientific publications, including results from the OptiMA-RDC clinical trial, which informed a revision of WHO international guidelines on the management of acute malnutrition

  • 200 policy briefs distributed

  • Dr. Moh during his presentation

Looking ahead to 2024, the PAC-CI Program’s research priorities will focus on:

Care strategies for PLHIV (long-acting drugs, aging, primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases)

    • Maternal and child health (strategies to reduce maternal and child mortality in decentralized Ivorian settings)

    • Air pollution and its impact on children’s respiratory health

    • The program also featured a discussion on “decolonizing research.”

    • Participants departed highly satisfied with this second meeting. The next network gathering is scheduled for June 2025. In the meantime, the Côte d’Ivoire site will host its next scientific conference in late Q1 2025.
