On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the conference room of the ASTHORIA PALACE hotel in Yopougon hosted the workshop to present the findings of the AIMA-CC-ANRS 12375 study.
AIMA-CC aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of different screening and treatment algorithms for precancerous or cancerous cervical lesions (CIN2+ and CIN3+) in women living with HIV.
This study, which involved 1,500 women aged 30 to 49, was conducted in collaboration with the CePReF healthcare providers.

This workshop therefore shared the main findings with stakeholders and gathered their views and recommendations. The ultimate goal is to replicate and scale up a similar implementation strategy.
The workshop activities lasted half a day and focused on the challenges surrounding cervical cancer in Côte d’Ivoire, the presentation of the AIMA-CC study results, and an open discussion session between researchers and participants.
The discussions mainly addressed financing and public policies in the fight against cervical cancer (CC), the long wait times for participants to undergo screening, the one-visit or two-visit medical implementation strategy, the availability of GenExpert platforms for HPV testing, the involvement of associations and community health workers in the fight against CC, and the content of awareness-raising information for women. The workshop concluded with a meal shared among all participants around 2:30 p.m.
