Completion of the FISSA ALERRT Study at Treichville University Hospital

From September 5 to 8, 2022, the closing ceremony for the FISSA ALERRT study at Treichville University Hospital was held in the Prof. Marguerite TIMITE Room of the PAC-CI Program. This event was attended by the investigators, the site supervisor, and the international and regional coordinators of the study. It marks the end of the site’s participation in the study. The Treichville University Hospital site opened on December 26, 2019, in the Adult Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency departments, with Prof. Aristophane TANON serving as Principal Investigator and Dr. Raoul MOH as Supervisor. The sub-investigators, assisted in their duties by Clinical Trial Technician Patrick KOABENAN, had recruited 668 eligible adult and pediatric participants by the end of enrollment on December 31, 2021. The study closure was led by Dr. Gérard MENAN, International Project Manager, and Suzanne KOUADIO, Regional Clinical Research Associate, with support from Antoine KOUAME, Head of the Monitoring Pool. As a reminder, the FISSA study is an observational study that aimed to describe the epidemiology, clinical aspects, and management of febrile illnesses in sub-Saharan Africa. It was conducted at fifteen (15) sites in eleven (11) countries.
