Mereva, a Franco-Ivorian team of engineers, administrative managers, and technicians, has been assisting European and African researchers in implementing biomedical research projects in 31 countries for 10 years. Mereva operates under the historic partnership between the GHiGS team, Inserm Bordeaux, and the PAC-CI Program in Abidjan. It comprises four activity centers: Project Management, Statistics, Monitoring, and Information Technology.
Members of the Mereva Information Technology Center gathered for three days, from January 25 to 27, 2023, in Côte d'Ivoire, for their 5th Information Technology Seminar. The goal was to collectively assess the work and activities of previous years, the Center's service catalog, its communication and operating methods, strengths, and weaknesses.
The 2023 edition began with a Round Table on "Personal Data Protection – Regulation, Recommendations, and Implementation in Southern Countries." This led to the creation of a Working Group aimed at addressing the lack of MR adapted to Mereva contexts and defining a "Southern" Reference Methodology by cross-referencing the perspectives of various stakeholders, from participants to the Ivorian Regulatory Authority.
