The meeting began with a scientific update. Several recent publications support our choice of high-dose oral rifampicin, including oral versus IV. Regarding the state of progress, 218 patients included to date, 19 in the PK sub-study. Very few missed visits. Deaths occur mostly within the first 3 months. Each country presented its recruitment difficulties. In South Africa, many patients are at grade 1 because no family is found. The South African team has requested permission to include patients without consent. The ANRS requested a vote from the General Assembly. The protocol has been submitted to Trials.
